Writing on Stone

After we recovered from the banff-Jasper trip, we did a day trip to Writing on Stone Provincial Park. Wow, that place is so beautiful. The weather was cool and windy, but I think that was actually a good thing, as otherwise it would have felt like a sauna. The area is really amazing, and very different from the terrain around Lethbridge.

The edge of the river was so steep and sharp. I haven't seen anything like it before.

The visitors' centre.

Mini Ayres rock!

Here are some of the writings on stone. It's hard to see them, so you may have to click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Maurice coming back from a hike to see where the path goes.

Pauline trying to stay upright.

Pronghorns! We hadn't seen pronghorns before, so we were quite excited by them. Unfortunately, they weren't as excited about seeing us. At least they hung around long enough for me to get some pictures of them.
