Girls' Night Out, Feb 08

We decided it was time to have another GNO since it was Reading Week. We can only go out when there is little chance of running into students. This time I had the girls to my house for dinner. Then we went to a west side bar, which was so dead they sent the DJ home before we got there. We had to change locations and go downtown to Suede again. Fortunately we were about the only people there, aside from staff. We had a great time!My kitchen is always a mess when I cook! The menu is below. Yes, John wrote it. That's why you can read it.

Sarah, who loves anything pink, brought some special sparkling wine for us. We managed to drink it, plus about 4 other bottles before leaving for the bar. For those of you who are wondering, no, I didn't drink any wine!

Girl talk. Michelle & her Mom came over for a visit too.

The evening begins! That's Marie's derriere below.
F-Dawg above. Normally called Sarah. Melanie & Maya below.

Marie below, having fun with the camera.

Sarah missed the last GNO, so she was making up for it this time. Fortunately, she likes to cut a rug.

The evening finally began to take a toll. Jenn needed a rest by the fire. Melanie & Maya also needed a short nap before heading home.

Dressing Up

We finally had an opportunity to dress up a bit, for an event at the University. John wore the suit he bought before moving here, and I wore a suit I made just for the occasion.

Fernie, part 2

Here are some shots from our snowshoeing outing. Unfortunately, the battery in my camera died before I could take shots of John, or while cross country skiing. I was also trying to show how deep the snow is, but I don't think it really worked.

Fernie, part 1

A bunch of us went to Fernie this weekend. John did some downhill skiing, and I snowshoed & took a cross country skiing lesson. It was a lot of fun. I have to say though, I have never seen so much snow in all my life. It snowed pretty much non-stop the entire time we were there. Here are some pictures of the snow around the chalet where everyone stayed.
