Alberta Birds of Prey Centre

We also went to the Birds of Prey Centre in Coaldale. We hadn't been before, and found it really interesting. We did find it distressing when the birds tried to fly but couldn't because they were tethered. It seems like there is good reason for them being tethered, and apparently they get to fly freely every day. Despite that, it was cool to be able to get so close to them, and even hold some owls. I was quite impressed with the centre overall.

The little owl inside is Alex. He is imprinted to people. The little owlet has just been found, so they are taking care of him.

This guy kind of creeped me out. He looked a bit like a monkey.

Lincoln, having a bath.

I like the effect of the fence on these pictures.

Burrowing owls
Ducks that can be fed. And one bossy goose.
