Big Cake

I made a pear ginger cake with whipped cream icing and rum caramel sauce for New Year's Eve. It was very big. Some people liked it, but I thought it was just OK. Not sure if was taking the gluten out or what, but I wasn't wowed. I think I'd have preferred a cream cheese icing instead. It was fine, it just wasn't spectacular. Except for the height, that is!
