Random Shots from Today

I have a problem. I have a problem with backgrounds. I hate taking pictures if the background isn't "perfect". I think I miss a lot of potentially good pictures because of this. Does it matter if there's nothing distracting in the background? Probably not, but it really bugs me. I am attempting to pay less attention to what's going on behind me for a little while.

Rosco

Rosco is visiting today due to an upset tummy. I rarely get any decent shots of him inside, mostly because if I get up, he is sure I am going to the cheese drawer in the fridge, so he's always on the move! Here are a few pictures from our walk this morning. He is not lying down in the kitchen because I am making some rice for him for lunch.

The Wind!

I have been complaining about the wind for days now. It's preventing me from sleeping, it's annoying to be out in, and so on. Then I read in the paper today that the wind in Waterton yesterday was clocked at 148km/hr! WHAT??! And it was 140km/hr in Claresholm. I can't even imagine what that would feel like. Anyway, after hearing that I decided maybe I shouldn't complain so much when it's only 80 or 90km gusts here.

To celebrate the wind I decided to take some pictures of the wind gauge today.

Outside Photos

My theme on 365 for this week is outside. Outside can be just about anything, as long as it's outside the house. It's a bit unfortunate that I choose such a windy week for the outside pictures, but at least it's a bit warmer. I got no sleep at all last night because it was so loud. Today it was supposed to be gusting to 110km/hr. I was at work so I don't know if it got that high, but it's currently 81km/hr, so it may well have!

Flowers

Sarah brought me some gerbera daisies on Saturday. They have "bling"!! The centres have little rhinestones in them. I've never seen that before, and it's really cool. We were saying they have been beadazzled. I was trying to get some different shots of them, but was getting frustrated by my lens. I just can't get as close as I'd like. I'll have to save up! Some of these are fun though.

Girls' Night In

I hosted GNI last night. The usual suspects came, and we had a great time. We are so lucky to have such great friends here. I didn't take many pictures, but I wanted you to see the quotes I chose for the board, and the food! Most of it was good, but I wasn't happy with the custard tart. Oh well.

Sad

I've been feeling very sad about Molly this week. It might be because I got my new blog book, so I was looking at pictures of her. Or it could be because the ladies I work with wanted to see the books from Blurb, so I brought in my new one and the one that the girls from the daycare made for us when Molly died. That one made one of my colleagues cry, and she had never even met Molly! Whatever the reason, I've been feeling blue. Every now and again I'll think of something she did that made us laugh, and I will be happy for that moment.

We still have her ashes. We planned to scatter them at her favourite spot, but I can't bring myself to do it. I may never be able to, I don't know.
