Colourful Jacket

I finally finished my jacket. I started it last year, but couldn't work on it for those months when I was sick. I was able to get it done when I was recovering from surgery on my foot.

Rosco

In April Jay, Carly & Quinn lost Rosco. He had lymphoma. I took some pictures before he died. He was a beautiful soul.

Wintry

Fridays are Adventure Days. Paisley & I go somewhere different for a walk so she can get our of our neighbourhood to get different sniffs. This was a trip to Henderson Lake.

Little Birds

Paisley & I found these little birds in the park just down from our house. They were eating pinecones - crunch crunch crunch. They didn't stay long, just long enough for me to get some pictures. They were o adorable.

Dog Park Action

Can't take enough pictures of dogs playing at the dog park, right?!

Christmas 2012

Apparently I didn't even get Christmas pictures posted from 2012, how shameful is that! I definitely have a lot of catching up to do. Jennifer & Fundy came over for brunch & to open gifts. We had a great time. It was nice to share Christmas day as e are normally on our own.

For dinner we went to Michelle's house. Her friends Lori & Desy were there, along with her Mom. The food as amazing, and the company was even better. Despite being sick it was a great Christmas.

Sadness

There is so much sadness in the news. Several friends were running in Boston when the bombs went off, but were fortunately uninjured. John's running partner is trying to qualify so this really hit home. Then there was the explosion in Texas, not to mention everything happening in Syria and elsewhere. It can be a lot to deal with emotionally.

Dogs are one of the best comforts when we are feeling down. They offer so much comfort, and it's hard to feel down with a dog around. They are so naturally funny and loving that we have to feel better interacting with a dog.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for dogs too. Two friends lost dogs to lymphoma, a terrible disease that can end a life so quickly. Another friend lost a dog to a tragic accident. My heart goes out to those who have lost their dogs recently. You never really get over it, you just learn to live with the hole left in your life and your heart.

Another Slideshow

Wow, I am so far behind with my blog. I will have to take some time to get back up to speed. In the meantime, here is one of the slideshows I put together for Photofusion. I hope you enjoy it.

Errandonnee

One of the Bikebridge members posted on Facebook about a challenge called Errandonnee. Since I have been off the bike for so long (injury & illness), I thought it might be a fun way to get back to it. I did my first ride today, to the grocery store. It was a long, slow 7 miles, with a very high heart rate, but at least it was a ride. The weather has been so gorgeous that past little while it's a shame to not be outside as much as possible. Hopefully I will be able to ride to work as long as the good weather holds.

We'll see how I feel on my first ride up Whoop Up since October! If all goes well that will happen Thursday. I would try it on Wed but I have to work until 10pm, and that seems a bit late to ride home.

Video

I finally joined the photography club. I did the member spotlight a few weeks ago, where you introduce everyone to your photography. Here is a link to the slideshow I did.

Sick

At the beginning of December I got the flu. The influenza flu, not the stomach version. I have never been that sick before. I don't remember December at all. I missed a lot of work, and when I was there I couldn't do anything. I couldn't remember anything, and couldn't understand anything. I was sick all through the holidays, and am only just now beginning to feel somewhat normal. I still have no energy, and cough when I get tired, but at least my brain is functioning again.

One of the doctors I saw said I had this year's flu, whatever they are calling it. I sure hope I never get it again.
