Rainbows

Because of all the rain/storms we've been having, we've also had many rainbows. I love taking pictures of rainbows, and these ones were cool because they were doubled. These happened on different days, but the rainbows were quite similar - in terms of location in the sky & the doubling. At some points the colours were incredibly bright, more so than appears in the pictures.

I was trying to show how flooded the road was in front of our house again in the last few pictures.

More Practising

We were supposed to be practising movement and light pictures. Not surprisingly, I don't really follow directions all that well, so I did my own thing again. Some of the shots are interesting though.

I changed the white balance on these ones to see what the effect would be.
Here I was trying to get the water to look "soft", which is tough when hand holding the camera. John gave me a tripod for my birthday, so maybe I can do a better job with this type of picture now.

I was playing around with moving the camera to see what the effect would be. Kind of cool.

More Practice Pictures

More practice pictures for class.

The Best Dog in the World

This is the saddest post. On June 25, our beloved Molly died. It has taken me a long time to be able to blog about it, and I'm crying while typing. We don't know exactly what happened, but she stopped eating. It became pretty clear that she wasn't going to survive. We had to let her go.

Molly was the best dog in the world. She had such a funny personality, and was so loving. We were very, very lucky to have had almost 14 years with her. We miss her terribly, and will probably take a while to recover from losing her. Both of us loved her so much. There is a huge void in our lives.

Practice Pictures

Here are some practice shots from class tonight. Do you like the scenery? The adult video store across the street was quite a backdrop! This week's assignment is motion. We'll see how it goes. I'll post those pictures when I get them.
